First of all... I apologize if there's already a topic handling my issue, but so far I didn't find it...

I'm supporting a Joomla website, which has two languages : English/French.

Everything about switching the language is working fine, except that when I switch language, I always get directed to the homepage.

So even when I'm a subpage somewhere on the site (let's say Page-C), and I switch the language, I get directed to the homepage instead of staying on Page-C in the new (switched) language.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Dominiek

Thanks for your reply.

So if I understand well... I set up everything allright, and the language switch (to the homepage) is default behaviour?

Is there a workaround possible, so that you stay on the page you are viewing? Or is this not possible?

It is possible, all that happens in back is that user should be redirected to url with correct language ending. So you could use your custom control. Trick is to calculate correct urls. To take current current language /en url part and put there selected language like /de instead of /en. Yous you or someone else needs to create it.
