Are you saying to put the Image Rotator in the left position? I tried to put a couple different module types (menu, custom html) in both the left and the right position without success. I also tried to unpublish the rotator and then tried to use the left and right modules but that did not work either.

No, when rotator is in inset position you should be able to use left for other module.

To simplify: Left and right columns do not appear on the front page like they do other pages. What needs to be changed so when modules in left or right columns are enable for "all", they also appear on the front page?

Not talking about demo; talking about front page layout changes.
