after testing with the template by default beez5 everything works for the home page, so I take it the problem of template just cosmetic.

the site is a site for a client it is complete just concern home page.
with beez template no problem home page. Therefore it is the cosmetic template which poses problem.
My client do not want another template there buy cosmetic and do not want an another template.

If you say modules don't appear, maybe you need to change modules positions. Module positions are related to templates if you have modules set for other templates in some module positions with that template, and you have cosmetics for home page module positions are not same so modules don't load. You have to put modules mi module positions of cosmetics template.
