home page will not display featured articles

Hi - I'm new to this template. Using 2.5 version with VM.
I am not being able to get featured articles to show on the home page.
If I switch from the Cosmetic template to Atomic or Beez, the article can be seen -so settings for the article appear correct.

I have tested with the other module appearing on the home page turned on and all turned off.

Any ideas?

it's simple that template does not have area to display articles on home page, you must use modules , there is article module in joomla.

Will search engines still catch the first lines as page description?

I have been having this issue too. Except I can't get any articles to show. I've used the Single Article layout and Featured Articles layout but none of them are working.

Also for some reason not all the module positions work on the homepage. So far the only position that works for the content is the Advert 1 position. So I've had to setup the homepage all within the Advert 1 position.

The homepage feature of Joomla is reasonably basic and I'm certain I could just add it myself but this should be in the template.
