Modification module for other products

How can I add to the module choices as: latest products, topten products and recent products (as featured products).
Please help me

You can only use products from some category or set "Product Category Id" to some root category combined with setting of "Featured Products Only" setting.

I know, but I want to make this module was more functional and able to choose the latest products, topten products and recent products.
I know nothing about writing modules but if you can do this for featured products, it is also possible for the other product groups.
