Rapid contact error

hello,

when I try to send a question via rapid contact I got the following messages:

Could not instantiate mail function.


System Information:

PHP Version: 5.3.17
Webserver: Litespeed
Joomla version: Joomla! 3.0.0 Stable [ Ember ] 27-September-2012 14:00 GMT

Check smtp settings in joomla's global configuration. Also is php mail is selected as sending method that requires that component is present on server. Try with SMTP server because you can test settings in outlook or similar client app.
