Modules change their positions was created by orish
Hi, I have the blankie template and I'm busy changing the content of the demo module.
I decided to position the Hot Rotator on the right, but when I entered "right" in the position field and saved, the module appeared below the article content!
Oh, and I decided I wanted no module in "advert1" so I tried moving the "advert1" module into "advert2", but both modules in "advert2" were displayed on the left side of the page, above the breadcrumbs module.
I'm also having trouble ordering modules in the same position. I want two modules to be in "advert2". Please can you explain how the ordering works.
In the ordering drop-down, I see:
1. Random Image
2. Picture Rotator
3. Right Module
etc.
But it doesn't make sense. How do I change the order? And how do I tell joomla that I want a new module to be order no 2, say?
Many thanks,
gary

I am not sure I understand what you actually wanted to do. Some kind of illustration or screen shot would be good. Also, we need your link to inspect the problem.

(sorry - i didn't get any email that u replied already)
There are two issues.
1. How to order different modules in the same position.
I want to have two modules in advert2. How do I set the order so that Upcoming Seminars is first and Picture Rotator is second? or the other way round?
You can see that in the attached file in the ordering drop-down field:
1. HOT Joomla Gallery
2. Picture Rotator
How do I change the order of these modules?
Can I do that from the main modules screen instead? There are no "move up" or "move down" buttons.
2. The second issue is when I don't put anything in position advert1.
I want the content to come right up to the top of the screen as much as possible, and for the adverts to appear on the right.
So I set the position for the modules Picture Rotator and Upcoming Seminars to advert2. I put nothing in advert1. But then what happened is that both modules displayed on the LEFT HAND SIDE of the screen.
See www.liveworkretirethailand.com .
I've fixed it now so that Picture Rotator is in advert1 and Upcoming Seminars is in advert2. I can't find a way to do what I want to do... i.e. have the adverts running down the right hand side of the page, while the content displays as close to the top of the screen as possible.
blankie doesn't work as a good design for people with narrow or wide-screen computer screens... You can't see any content, and some people don't think to scroll down to check. I want them to see some interesting text - like a heading and the first lines of the content to make them curious to scroll down and read more.
I'm trying to adjust the layout so that there is as little vertical blank space as possible and make the module advert1 narrower so that the top of the content shows up immediately (without having to scroll down to see it).
Or push everything else across to the right (and maybe have the menu displaying vertically on the left) so that the content is pushed right up to as close to the top of the page as possible.
Any ideas?
Many thanks,
gary

1. Click Ordering link first. Then you would see the arrows.
2. We must check your link to give you a solution. Give me exact link where the problem is present. I see on your site everything is ok.

I have already placed the Picture Rotator in "advert1", but I would like to put this in "advert2" (or perhaps in "right").
If "advert1" is empty then everything in "advert2" moves to the left of the screen. I will try to experiment with putting Picture Rotator and Upcoming Seminars in "right" instead.
