Layout Designer Error??

So I am making completely different versions of the template and each different version will load with each menu item but now I have come across this issue with the layout designer. So I now have 4 variations of the same template but with different backgrounds, bottom images, and menu ribbons, but now I can not add the classes into the 4th one because the layout designer will not let me type in the classes. What might be wrong?
