I cant get it to look like the demo on the home page. All articles are loaded in K2
All other menu pages look like demo with no issues.

Also cant work out how to get some articles with black background and others without.

Can PM login detail to admin.

Try this, to to your articles one by one, toggle to html view and on any tag set this class:

class="dynlayout_wide1"

Tried this... couldnt get it to work.

Change menu item type to k2 categories

Still having issues to get home page to look like demo with K2 articles.

Here are general recommendations that will lead you right way:
- responsive template is not much thankful for user customization in trens of layout, best you respect ways thing are done in hot_start installation
- Install hot start locally then replicate ways thing are done
