Built in Search Feature was created by donald.patch
Hello
The template comes with a built in search feature on the top but seems almost useless unless I do not not understand how it works. When a student searchs for a couse they do not search for
Type or Author and when you pick catagory it shows all the catagories on your page. It should only show the ones related to the Class liek Music, Computer and ETC. How do you remove catagories from being includeds and how to you remove search options such as author, language and region Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello,
Joomla 4 uses the Smart Search core component. Before you see the search results, you should index your content. Go to Components > Smart Search > Index and click the "Index" button. Also, go to System > Manage > Plugins. In the filter field type "search" and make sure that all search plugins are published.
Regards,
Milos

Hello,
Joomla search works as it’s demonstrated in the template. If you need customization of the default Joomla search component, it will require coding of a custom search module that’s developed as per your specifications.
I understand what you need, but you should understand that your specific requirements are not something that can be included in any template.
Regards,
Milos
