How to link directly from Article Intro Image?

In the Bakery template, I have many articles with Intro Images, as shown on this home page: [url] 29i.a48.mytemp.website/index.php [/url] 
I want to link these images directly to their respective categories, but I don't see how to do that. If I put the link in the Link A field, (see snapshot) it requires the user to take two steps rather than one.
How can I make a link directly from an Intro Image?

How do you mean two steps? Can you give me the name of the article where you added the link to the intro image?
