favicon.ico was created by kent8
I have put our custom icon in these following places, and the correct favicon.ico show in a desktop browser.
gulfcoastwing.org/
/media/system/images/favicon.ico
./media/templates/site/sparky_framework/images/icons/favicon.ico
./media/templates/site/carwash/images/icons/favicon.ico
./images/membersOnly/calendar/favicon.ico
BUT the correct icon is NOT appearing on mobile devices.
Please tell me what I am doing wrong ?
Thanks,
Kent

Hello,
Favicon for desktops should be named "favicon.ico" (make sure it's a proper ICO file) and uploaded to /media/templates/site/carwash/images/icons/favicon.ico
Favicons for mobiles should be two PNG files of size 180x180px and 192x192px, named "icon180x180.png" and "icon192x192.png" and uploaded to the same folder /media/templates/site/carwash/images/icons
If you have already done all this and it is still not displayed on mobiles, you should try clearing your mobile browser's cache or try with another device or browser.
It's also explained here: www.hotjoomlatemplates.com/sparky-docume...on/features/branding
Regards,
Milos

Thanks very much for this rapid response.
Let me be sure that I understand, please.
The favicon for desktop and mobile are TWO DIFFERENT file formats ? Really ?
If so, DO we know WHY this is ?
Every other website that I have ever configured uses ONE favicon.ico for ALL devices !
Thanks,
Kent

Hello,
In my opinion, it increases the chances that the icon is displayed on all devices. As you know, there are 1000s different smartphones and tablets. However, you don't need to use all 3 images that I mentioned. You can use only the ICO file in the template options. For the other two icons (Android and Apple) you can select the option "None Selected" and these icons will not be used.

Milos
