Custom Style was created by Mona
I have installed Hot Churchly for a client. The whole color scheme has to be changed.
She wants to maintain the website herself, only using the Joomla back-end, so without an FTP program.
I assume that with an update, changes in CSS files will be lost. This is why I prefer to change to the lay-out without modifying the CSS files of the template.
When I change colors in the Sparky Framework, they don't show up in the website. The Documentation says that for this you have to select 'Custom Style'. My problem is that I cannot find this option anywhere.
So I have 2 questions:
1) Does Churchly have the option of 'Custom Style' and if yes how do I activate it?
2) Is is true that modifications to the CSS files will be lost when the template is updated?
Thank you in advance.

It is in template folder then /styles.styleX.css where X is number of style, if file does not exist you can just create it.

Thank you. My other question is: if I create a new CSS file in the folder you mention, or edit an existing one, what happens when an update of the Churchly template is installed? Does it preserve the changes I made?

Just make sure you don't overwrite that files you change. You update template by manual copy of files so your client can update joomla without any concern.
