creating new page

I created a homepage and now need to create new pages (Contact, About) and link to the main menu. I'm not sure where I create the new pages. I have created the main menu but can't see where to link that to new pages. Thanks for you suggestions.

In joomla there are no pages and posts like in WordPress. For about page you would use article and link it to menu with menu item of type single article. For contact page you would create contact in contact manager and link it to menu with menu item of type "Single contact"

thanks, ok so i need to create an article first. Do i use Article manager or Component manger (K2 item for instance) to create the article? And while in Article or Component manager (what's the difference?), do i have to link the menu to that page? I don't see that option anywhere?

The next step is to go to Menus manager i guess? Once i click on the menu item that i created previously (about or contact), what do i have to do to assign the new article page to the menu? I can see the options: Details (Menu item type, link), Link Type (Link title attribute, link css style), Module Assignment.

And finally, how can i create a new page that has a more complex layout (one that doesn't fit into the simple article mould)? Can an article page have different layouts? can i apply the layout from template manager to article pages?
