Trouble with installation

I am new to Joomla. I successfully uploaded the corporate template. However it was linked to www.mywebsite.com/hotcorporate instead of just www.mywebsite.com . So I tried to start over upload the folders right onto my public_html ftp and overwriting all similar files, however I cannot follow the same install directions from the your website. after the upload it says "Congratualtions Joomla is successfully installed." But nothing shows up about the corporate template, its just the old protostar template.

Do you maybe forgot to install sample data?
