Installation issue

I followed the installation instructions for the Corporate template, including changing folder/file permissions. When I go to the index.php, I get a message that the installation folder must be deleted to continue. It seems to skip the entire install and go right to #7, Finish, without doing anything.

Joomla was installed via my host, as well as the database, but I followed the guide and uploaded all via FTP.

You need to delete folder <joomla root>/installation after installation procedure

I tried that. My point was that it never goes through the install process (i.e. steps 1 through 6). If I delete the installation folder, I end up w the stock Joomla installation...... not the template w the sample data.

So where does it hangs up?

On page where you select sample data set you select "SELECT THIS FOR HOTSTART!" - right ?

It was not hanging. It simply went right to step 7 like it had installed.

I ended up figuring it out. I had to manually delete the entire joomla installation that my hosting service installed (leaving the database) and then install the joomla in the template package, again with a manual ftp upload. Then follow the rest of the hot start instructions. It then installed properly.

The fact that you have to completely delete a host installed joomla instance should probably be put in big bold letters in the installation instructions. It's by no means obvious, and I only knew to do it from another post on this board.

That happens if you try to install, then procedure get interrupted and you try to install again. SO put fres hots start files on site
