Baffled and about to give up was created by dougmac718@gmail.com
OK, so I'm not a Joomla expert, but I do understand the basic idea of articles, modules and containers. I've designed basic Joomla and Mambo sites with no issue.
That having been said, this template, while potentially aesthetically pleasing, is absolutely baffling. For the life of me I can't figure out what the [content] position is and how to use it (it's not a module). I assume upper and lower content are related. Try to replace [content] with something like user6, and assign content to that position after changing the template layout, and nothing. Perhaps it's my lack of understanding of Joomla, but I've even purchased a beginners book, read it cover to cover, and cannot figure out this template. I've tried to remove the 3 articles on the homepage that come with the sample data by unpublishing one module at a time (just to see what feeds them and TRY to gain some insight into this template). They remain.
I do NOT want to modify CSS. That's not what I bought this template for. I bought it because it resembled a basic layout I could use for a business website, and I figured the content shouldn't be that difficult to manipulate. I also liked the Slicebox.
That having been said I really need someone to point me to a full blown guide to this template. I can't even get past the basics at this point, and I'm about ready to buy a more basic template. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Doug

The 3 items on home page are featured articles, if you want to remove them from there you need to remove featured flag from all articles.

I understand the featured articles.....I was more concerned with getting a better understanding of the template layout and how each container works, especially that [Content] one I mentioned.
I guess what I'm asking is if there is a pdf guide to this template besides the install instructions. I know the demo data has basic info and pointers, but something more in depth would be helpful.
Thanks

I have made some progress. Can you tell me how to modify two things:
1. The line on the homepage that says "Responsive Corporate Template for Joomla". I can't find a placeon the backend or a specific file that contains that language.
2. Same question for the footer..... I want to remove "Joomla Templates powered by Sparky". When I inspect the element, I see the wording. I just can't figure out which file it is so I can FTP and make changes.
Thanks!
