HOT Effects Rotator showing on pages it shouldnt

Sorry to ask so many questions. As in the subject, the HOT Effects Rotator is only to show on my site on the home page, however it keeps popping up on pages such as 3rd level VM categories, and the show cart page. How can I turn it off?

EDIT: I can now be a little more accurete. It is showing on the cart and also on individual product pages. Its like these pages are taking the home page with them. Any ideas how to correct. Thanks

If joomla does not have menu item so it can ask settings in module assignment settings what to place on page , what not it will use menu assignment for home page.

Is there a way to make the modual only be on the 1 page?

yes create menu item for that page and set menu assignment for that module to display only on that page.

What menu item type should I make it.
I made a new menu called front page and assigned it position advert1
I made a new menu item called front page
I assigned it as menu item Virtumart front page
I assigned the hot effects rotator.

Unfortunately nothing seems to be showing up.
Could you point out what I have done wrong.

So you need menu item for that page, type is not important as long you get that same page when you click from menu. Then you need to set menu assignment in module settings
