Explorer and K2 was created by hkeyzer
Hi,
I originally used the Explorer template on Joomla Version 3.10, and it came with K2.
I want to upgrade the site to Joomla 4 - but K@ is not available for Joomla 4. So have hotthemes removed and worked around K2 on the Joomla 4 version of Explorer template?
Thanks
Henk

Hello,
If the K2 extension is unavailable for Joomla 4, you must uninstall it before upgrading to Joomla 4.
It’s recommended to create a copy of your website and try the migration to Joomla 4 there.
The upgrade procedure is explained here: docs.joomla.org/Joomla_3.x_to_4.x_Step_by_Step_Migration
Our templates, modules, or plugins will not break the migration process. So, even if you see any of our extensions marked as "Not compatible" on the Extensions Pre-update Check section, please ignore this warning. However, other extensions installed on your website may break it (check this with the extensions developers).
When your website is upgraded to Joomla 4 and all content is migrated, you should download the Joomla 4 version of the template from our website (you will need an active subscription) and install it. You can use the standard template installation as explained here www.hotjoomlatemplates.com/template-inst...on-without-demo-data
Regards,
Milos

Hello,
An extension can't be a part of a template. However, it can be a part of quickstart installation. And yes, we removed it from the Joomla 4 quickstart installation of the Explorer template.
If you were using K2 component in Joomla 3 version of your site, you can't upgrade. You must make sure first that you are not using it, then uninstall all parts of K2 from Joomla 3 version of your site. Then, when you are sure that everything works correctly, you can proceed with the upgrade to Joomla 4.
Regards,
Milos
