Error when opening Template Manager

When opening the page I get an error message:

"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[' in /home/.../public_html/sitename/templates/hot_hair/elements/hotfont.php on line 52"

and the page only partially renders. I've installed on another site, and get the same error message:

"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[' in /home/.../public_html/sitename/templates/hot_hair/elements/hotfont.php on line 52"

Please advise on a fix. I have tried to look for the error in the file but couldn't find it.

Make sure that your server runs at least PHP 5.4. Joomla 3 is not compatible with PHP 5.3 and older.
