Natura hotstart for Joomla 4

When I go to change the logo of the Natura template, the Template Styles, Features,  Branding, Logo Image Settings PROMPT is WRONG.
It says "Select and image. Images are stored in /images folder of your template."
Beside being misspelled  (Select an image)
the LOCATION is just WRONG.

It took me almost an hour to find the real path to these files.

They are NOT in .../templates/natura/images

They ARE in ../media/templates/site/natura/images

This is terrifically frustrating, to waste so much time looking for a simple logo file.

Please correct the prompt in the template ASAP.

Thanks
Kent

Hello,

The recent update of Joomla 4.1 came with the child templates feature. One of the requirements for the child templates is to use /media folder for all assets (instead of the previously used /templates folder). We have updated all templates but missed changing this string in the language file. It's fixed now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Also, you could read this in our Sparky Framework docs: www.hotjoomlatemplates.com/sparky-docume...on/features/branding

Regards,
Milos

Thanks for this rapid and cogent response !

I understand that resources directly related to template need a logical and consistent place to live in the directory structure.

However, WHY is that place NOT in the /images directory structure when it's ... images ?

That makes no sense at all to me.
Further, WHY can't the logo image chooser dialog include the ENTIRE Joomla directory structure, so that I can use images in the /image/ directory, instead of restricted solely to the new /media/blah directories ?

It's contrary to every other Joomla template that I have ever used, and it requires that certain image resources be on the system TWICE, once in the /images and once in the /media.

Does this make sense ?

Thanks,
Kent

Hello,

The logo image is a part of the template. Therefore, its place is inside the /media folder, together with other template assets. All images that are used in the content are in the /images folder.

Otherwise, if a user installs the template without demo data (template only), the logo will not be included with the template.

Milos

I understand the need for uniformity and organization, but couldn't there be a way to BROWSE from that directory (the ONLY ONE ALLOWED) to the Images folder or somewhere else ?
It would make it so much faster and more efficient than have to copy everything to be used in template to that directory from somewhere else.

Unfortunately, browsing this folder is not allowed at this moment. I hope it will be in one of the future versions of Joomla. If we change the logo field to the "media" type, it will open the /images folder. And again, if a user installs the template without demo data, the logo will be missing. More details about the media form field type: docs.joomla.org/Media_form_field_type

You can make this change on your template though. Edit the template file /templates/natura/templateDetails.xml. Find this line:
Code:
<field name="logoImageFile" type="imagelist" label="TPL_SPARKY_FRAMEWORK_LOGO_IMAGE_FILE_LBL" description="TPL_SPARKY_FRAMEWORK_IMAGE_SELECT_DESC" directory="media/templates/site/natura/images" default="-1" />

and change it to this:
Code:
<field name="logoImageFile" type="media" label="TPL_SPARKY_FRAMEWORK_LOGO_IMAGE_FILE_LBL" description="TPL_SPARKY_FRAMEWORK_IMAGE_SELECT_DESC" default="-1" />

Now, instead of the logo images selector, you will be able to browse all the images from the /images folder.

Milos
