Caption mobile view issue

Hi

Every time I caption a photo it causes the image to be oversized on the mobile phone and iPad portrait views.

The images work great without the captions.

I've worked out that the issue only arises when the image is re-sized in the "Article Manager: Edit Article" page. Solution for me is to re-size the image before uploading to site. I'm happy to do this however any idea why it happens?
