SOLVED: Wordpress Politics Template issue with widgets

The widgets appear as a list or blocks that you can alter the content, however, all of the controls to indicate which pages to appear on are missing.
The show/hide features are all missing. How do we access those?

I installed Classic Widgets and regained the controls. I like certain features of the new widget control, but being unable to easily indicate where they appear is not acceptable.

Since WordPress v5.8, the Widget Control that's integrated into our themes doesn't work anymore. I don't think it's possible to fix this because the widgets interface is completely changed in WordPress v5.8.

However, there are several plugins that you can use if you need to publish widgets on certain pages only:

wordpress.org/plugins/widget-options/
