Hi there. I have upgraded an existing site from J3.10 to J5 and also changed the template from Cassiopeia to HJT Pub template. How can I recreate the look of the DEMO without installing the Hotstart package?? Can't find any guides on this in your site. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello,

You must use the HotStart installation method to copy demo data. Please follow this link carefully www.hotjoomlatemplates.com/documentation

Don't try to install it HotStart over existing Joomla! HotStart installation is a NEW Joomla installation. Entire Joomla is packed inside file hot_pub5x_hotstart.zip.

Make sure that zip archive "hot_pub5x_hotstart.zip" is properly UNPACKED on your computer and make sure that all extracted files are properly UPLOADED to the server.

If you don't want to install HotStart and want to use the template over the existing Joomla installation (if you need to keep your current site's data), please read this page: www.hotjoomlatemplates.com/blog/joomla-i...-on-existing-website

Milos

Thanks, Milos. However, I have about 600+ articles in this joomla instance and after following the instructions you linked to, not only do the J5 extensions have trouble installing (missing language ini files), but the sparky editor will not fully load, making it impossible to use the Pub template style at all (see attached). This is quite frustrating, as I cannot find any way to make this template usable.

I have installed another instance using the HotStart file, which looks good, but my (large amount of) content would need to be imported into this instance. How can I make either of these solutions work?  Thanks.

Hello,

The content created with another editor (or any other page builder) can't be imported into the Sparky Page Builder. It's simply impossible because the formatting of the content is completely different. This is the case with all other Joomla page builders, not only our page builder.

However, you can switch back to the Joomla default editor when you edit these pages.

I know that changing a Joomla template is a complex task requiring very good Joomla knowledge and experience. However, it's not impossible to perform it successfully.

Regards,
Milos

Thanks Milos. I've been working on this for a while now and I'm still getting these errors while working in Sparky Page Builder on the template's homepage that came with the template:

Deprecated: DOMCdataSection::__construct(): Passing null to parameter #1 ($data) of type string is deprecated in /home/mrrlgarylynn/public_html/dev/administrator/components/com_fields/src/Plugin/FieldsPlugin.php on line 200

Hello,

Perhaps the error is not related to our template or page builder, but to one of the core Joomla plugin files. Which PHP version you are using? Please check Joomla requirements here: manual.joomla.org/docs/next/get-started/technical-requirements/

Milos
