Problems with HOT TRAVEL template (Joomla 3&4)

I just downloaded the HOT TRAVEL template for Joomla 3&4 and want to share my experience.
My environment is Windows 10 with either XAMPP (PHP 7.3.3) or XAMPP (PHP 8.1.17).
First I installed the Joomla 4 package on PHP 8.1.17. The installation process was ok. When I start to edit some articels I realized that I couldn't save the changes because "User 579" didn't exist. So I had to create a Fake User and edit his ID in the MySQL database to 579. Then I faced another problem with the "Hot Responsive Lightbox". Any changes I tried to make (add another photo, change the path to another picture folder (same root like "gallery")) resulted in "Sorry, something went wrong". Up to now I can't figure out this problem.

Second I tried to install the Joomla 3 version also on PHP 8.1.17 to look if the same problems exists. I was not able to install it on this environment, because after the 2nd page of the installation process (db access etc.) I couldn't go on further. No error message.... nothing. So I tried to install on PHP 7.3.3 and this works great. In this combination the above discribed problems with the "User 579" and the "Hot Responsive Lightbox" didn't occur. All articels have been set to "Super User" and I could change and photos and even make a new folder at the Lightbox.

Actually I don't want to work with Joomla 3 on an outdated PHP version. So please explain me what's wrong with the Joomla 4 version and the implemented "Hot Responsive Lightbox".

Thank you

Hello,

This is normal behavior. Every Joomla installation creates a new super user, and this super user doesn't match the super user who created the article originally.

However, it's very simple to solve this for any article. When you are editing an article, go to the Publishing tab, click the User icon in the "Created By" field, and click your user name. Finally, save the article. This should be done just once for every demo article that you want to use.

Hi Milos,
what about the rest of my experienced problems e.g. installing Joomla 3 version on PHP 8.1.17?
The problem with the "Hot Responsive Lightbox" I put in the relevant topic already, waiting for any response...

Charly

Hello,

You should not start your website with Joomla 3 as its "end of life" is approaching. Anyway, if you insist on using Joomla 3, try installing it on PHP 7.4. Also, if it doesn't work again, maybe your MySQL server version is not compatible with Joomla 3 (try using an older version).
