Cathegory will not hide

I have a strange issue with articles. I use the Traveller Template, adopted to my requirements. On the front page, I have 6 small articles as entry and I like to have only the title, a short text and the "read more" link (in German "weiterlesen"). But I see the cathegory and the creation date, whatever I configure (I use "global" in the article configuration). I have hided anything in the article manager, but the result is zero. Whatever I do - the values don't disappear. Ist this a template behavior or a mismatch in Joomla!? Any hint, how to solve?

Please edit the menu item that controls your front page and change the settings there. The menu item's settings have priority over the global article settings.

Thank you, was the right hint. I had overseen the of-canvas menu, this has overwritten the other part. In the other menu I changed the configuration before, but not there.
