Modify order confirmation email / activation page

Hi,

1. How do I modify fields of the very first email sent to the customer: "order confirmation"-email.

At the top of email (Vendor section) there are custom fields (made by me, which can't be hidden from VM's field management). Now I want to hide that 1 field from email by editing code, but don't know how...

2. And how do I edit the layout of "successful activation"-page, which comes if customer confirms his/her email address. Due to my plugin(?) that page doesn't use CSS for layout and it looks not so good. Any tips or is this VM forum issue...?
