I've tried migrating/updating manually and with jupdate and am having problems with the hotjoomla templates. Jupdate did the best. Also problems with Virtumart. Tried installing Virtuemart 2.0 with original template and just didn't work. I've updated joomla 1.5 to 1.5.26. No problems there. What do I need to do? On certain computers/operating systems website is a little odd. In particular on ipads. Thanks in advance.

You are not having problems with Hot Joomla Templates, because all our templates are released in version for Joomla 2.5. So you can easily switch the template (you can download 2.5 version from our download section).

However, upgrade of Joomla from 1.5 to 2.5 could be difficult (I tried it). If you add upgrade of VirtueMart 1.1 > 2.0, this is probably a nightmare (I never tried it).

If I were you, if your site is not to complex, I would build it from scratch. It will take less time and you would get a stable site.

Switch template? Uninstall the 1.5 template and then install the 2.5 template on the joomla 1.5 site? Or install the the 2.5 template on my new 2.5 site? I have installed Virtuemart 2.0 on my 2.5 site. It works but none of my products and photos in Virtuemart transfered. Articles all migrated perfectly to 2.5 site. Things in the administration panel actually look promising. Front end is the problem. Www.blackbeartrading.com/Jupdate .

You expected your products to be transfered automatically? No, they won't. Please visit www.virtuemart.net for more information about migration from VM 1.1 to VM 2.0.

OK actually making progress. FYI there is a migrating tool in the tools section of Virtuemart. Worked pretty well not perfect. Much better and faster than building a new site. Jupgrade really surprisingly good.

That being said having problems with hot fashion template. Down loaded 2.5 version of fashion template, rotator and gallery. Both rotator and gallery appear in the module manager like they should. Fashion template does not appear in the Template manager. Tried install a couple of times. Always get report that the installation is succesful but the template never appears in Template manager.

When I get this done I will write a step by step process that works. Much is what is out there is anecdotal at best with very few specifics.

I made on mistake the new site can be viewed at www.blackbeartrading.com/jupgrade not jupdate sorry about that.

Just an update. Went to files on my server and the fashion template folder is there. It just doesn't appear in the admin panel, so I can select it. Is there a way to make a change in the folder itself so it shows up?
