When I convert my site to enable SEO (goddady hosted)
joommla converts the URL from a article id = section id string to a url path that URL path does not exist. work around if any. i have been looking for the articles in the file of my template site however unable to find them, if i could what i would do is rename the article to the allies name and make folders for the URL path. if someone has a solution please help me. this is not as simple as enable SEO as indicated by the template.

thanks

For GoDaddy host, please create and empty file (in Notepad) and name it as .htaccess. Upload it to the site root. SEF links should work after that.

Anyway, Joomla SEF links generation is not anyhow related to template you are using.

i have done that, is there a process to force that how do i verify that i was successful in the name change?... besides it should just work.
i do understand that the SEF is not necessarily template issue however i can not find in the template the articles that the site is using.
thanks

here is what i have if i enable the SEO from the joomla backend:
johnsonschofield.com/js/services/as-built-surveys
the folder "services" does not exist.
if the seo option is not selected then a link like this is created (this works):
johnsonschofield.com/js/index.php?option...cle&id=16&Itemid=103
however my understanding is this will not work well

Did you upload an EMPTY .htaccess file (not just renamed default Joomla's htaccess.txt) in the site root (your site is in /js directory, not in the root of your hosting)?
