Uploads fine, but doesn't show in Template Manager was created by sabradley
Hello,
I have just installed a new version of Joomla 2.5 after removing 1.5.25. I then tried to install Hot Joomla Restaurant 2.5 by uploading the ZIP file as normal. The Joomla backend said: "Installing template was successful."
Here is what I did:
1. Install Joomla (latest version using Godaddy installer is 2.5.3).
2. Open backend *site*.com/administrator.
3. Click Extension Manager.
4. Click Browse to "hot_restaurant25.zip" then click "Upload & Install".
5. Get messate "Installing template was successful."
6. Click "Extensions" - "Template Manager".
Hot Restaurant is not listed!!
I installed a random free template just to be sure it was working and that template shows up fine.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Stephan

Extract that first, there you will find stand alone template installation zip and hot start zip and bunch of other things. We always recommend you do hot_start. hot_start = joomla + modules + template + demo data like on our demos.

I'm having the exact same problem. I unzipped first than chose the file from the extension manager. The upload was successful, but I cannot see it in the template manager. I don't understand the response provided to resolve this issue. please provide more details on how to show the template in the template manager list.
Thank you.

I wanted to mention that I installed 2.5 Joomla and this is my first time using Joomla, but I have built several websites/blogs with Wordpress. The template I'm referring to is: Hot_Sportal.
Once again thank you.

You can't upload template that's made for Joomla 1.5 into Joomla 2.5. You need to upload file named as hot_templatename25.zip (do you see 25 in the file name?).
