Upgrade hotjoomla Sportal 1.7 to 2.5 or 3.1

1. When I click the button Find updates I get one update for Google maps, but not the Joomla update 2.5.3. I have J1.7 version 1.7.2 and 1.7.5! is that maybe the problem?

Did you check database tab in extension manager to see if some conflicts are listed. You can manually download upgrade zip and install it but you must be absolutely sure you have right update zip "from/to" version.
