I have migrated my Joomla 1.5 site using Hot destinations site template to a joomla 2.5 site, using Jupgrade. The www.raftingniseko.com/jupgrade shows up using the stock template.

I have downloaded the joomla 2.5 hot destinations template zip from my Hotjoomlatemplates.com account and tried to upload using the extension manager in Joomla 2.5.

The problem is it doesn't show up. On checking the templatedetails.xml file in the downloaded zip, the file is dated June 2011, and the extension version shows "1.6", not the correct 2.5. Not sure if the rest of the code is incorrect.

I have tried several things, re-migrating joomla 1.5 to 2.5 and deleting hot destinations template references before uploading the zip. Also, editing the tmp & log paths, plus changing the permissions on my /yupgrade/tmp and /yupgrade/logs folders, and combinations there of without success.

I would be great if you can confirm this is the correct file, and if it is, what I might be doing wrong when uploading. Your help would be much appreciated.

Yes it is 1.6 for 2.5 template.

Did you try it like this:

Activate some other temporal template , default jooma or install some.
Uninstall old destinations template
Install new destinations template
Activate new destinations template as default
Uninstall temporal template

This also stands for our modules and plugins.

Hi Ivan,

Thank you for the advice.

I did what you said but still no good.

I also did a fresh Jupgrade migration, deleting the previous migration, and a new migration not having the hot_destinations template as the default template before the migration. Everything was working as expected on the migrated site and administrator backends. I then downloaded and uploaded a different joomla 2.5 template. It all worked find, appearing in the template manager.

Wouldn't this suggest the problem is within the hot-destinations joomla 2.5 zip file?

Your help would be appreciated.

:) Hi Ivan,

Just a note to let you know I have the template appearing now.

There was a missing file/directory error for a vert.php file.

On looking at the folder where it was stated to be located, the php file in the hot_destinations_J25 zip was named vertical.php, not vert.php. Changed the file name to reflect what the code was looking for and it is now showing up.

Kuniyo,

I am having the same problem. It says "succes" when I upload the zip file, but then the template does not show up in the template manager.

Can you explain the vert.php file thing? I can't seem to find that file anywhere.

Thanks,
Stephan

Hi Stephan,

Blind leading the blind here, but maybe this will help you.

When I uploaded the template, everything said it was successful. But when I tried to view the site, I was given an error/warning message (with a URL to a specific file called .../vert.php), saying it didn't exist.

Using a FTP program, I went to the location in my site on the server, and found a file call "vertical.php". This was inside ...modules/mod-articles-news/tmpl/ folder.

I renamed this vertical.php file to vert.php. I then up load the template again, and it worked.

this solved the problem for me, but I think it would lead to problems in the future if the vertical.php file is also called by another process in the future. It is probably best to ask Hotjoomlatemplate support to change the syntax in the "hot_destinations_J25" upload zip.

If you do get the latter done, please advise.

Hope this may help you out.
