Menu Links to Articles Not working

I was off for Christmas, Don't know when this issue started.

In My Main Menu, The Menu Items to Articles get a 404, even new ones I create

Desperately Looking for Diagnosis!! Do you need more Info? Restruant opens in a few hours....

The file .htaccess in the root folder of your website is either deleted or not configured properly. Please consult your web hosting support to resolve this.

If the file is missing, you can try to rename Joomla's file htaccess.txt to .htaccess

When I changes the htaccess.txt to .htaccess I( got a New Error<br />Server Error500Internal Server Error

In the root folder (main folder) of your Joomla installation. If you are browsing files via the hosting control panel, check if the hidden files display is enabled (because all files starting with . are hidden files).

if ic took a .htaccess file from a different website on the same server would that work?
