Updating to VM2 from PreK Website Already Created

Just so I understand correctly if I have already created the website and have items in VM1.9.8.H, I can follow the steps here to upgrade to VM2:

And this should keep all the items and configurations the same or close? Or will I lose products?

You won't lose anything if everything is done properly. However, to be 100% safe, you MUST make a entire site backup before doing any upgrades.

Is there an updated Hot_Cosmetic Template that I need to upgrade to?

Does it need to be bought?

So I followed the blog directions but all products are gone....Not good.

What may be the problem? Or is this suppose to happen?

I have created a full backup. Can I upload the products automatically? (I really really hope so)

Also it says that I have installed VM-2.0.0RC3. Should I update to VM 2.0.0?

I should also add that the demo product categories are there but only one demo product.
